Elaine grew up in the Washington, DC metro area but spent some of her younger years living in Uganda. She attended Air Force JROTC boarding school at Randolph-Macon Academy in Front Royal, Virginia. Subsequently, she studied Social Psychology and the Spanish language at Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, Pennsylvania. After graduating, she worked at the State’s Attorney’s Office in Montgomery County and volunteered at the Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland. She has worked as a criminal defense law clerk in Washington, DC and as a remote criminal defense paralegal for a non-profit. She currently works remotely assisting Criminal Justice Act attorneys with juvenile defense casework.

She is passionate about criminal law and writing.
