It’s been said that “the truth will set you free”.
The Team Biden campaign launched a new social media account called @Truth. It’s the newest, and arguably one of the most well-played weapons in the Team Joe Biden arsenal, according to several media outlets.
The new Twitter account was launched just ahead of the first debates between Joe Biden and President Trump, in partnership with the Democratic National Committee. The account will share updates in real-time based on topics discussed during the debates.
Spectrum News1 reports that when asked about his strategy to debate President Trump, former Vice President Joe Biden put it simply: “Just tell the truth.”
The @Truth team made its first tweet following the theme from that off-camera video clip.
Biden campaign spokesman Andrew Bates said, “The American people deserve to remember what it’s like to have a president who tells the truth again,” according to the Washington Post.
Tuesday’s debate was held at Cleveland’s Case Western Reserve University and moderated by Chris Wallace, the anchor of “Fox News Sunday”.
Nearly every media outlet imaginable slammed Wallace as an ineffective moderator during the debate, especially when it came to dealing with Trump attempting to control the debate on his terms, including his constant interruptions.
Fox News mentions that Wallace said he will aim to be as “invisible as possible” during the debate, which will focus on an array of topics ranging from the coronavirus pandemic to the state of the U.S. economy.
“I’m trying to get them to engage … to focus on the key issues … to give people at home a sense of why they want to vote for one versus the other,” Wallace said. “If I’ve done my job right, at the end of the night, people will say, ‘That was a great debate, who was the moderator?’”
