A controversial rapper and a conservative commentator exchanged insults and invective on social media over their political disagreements Fox News reported. Cardi B and Candace Owens escalated their feud over the Labor Day weekend by hurling accusations at one another.
The entire affair began after an appearance by Owens, 31, on the Ben Shapiro Show on Sunday. During her appearance Owens criticized Cardi for her interview with Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden for Elle magazine in August. During a clip from Shapiro’s show she shared on her twitter account, Owens said, “It is one of the biggest insults. If Black Americans are not insulted by the fact that Joe Biden, who has been hiding in his basement, you know, for the entire year, made an appearance to come out because he was going do an interview with Cardi B. Do we have nothing better to offer?”
Owens accused Biden of doing the interview with Cardi as an easy opportunity to garner black support. “[Joe Biden], you are pandering. You look at Cardi B’s Instagram, and you see she has millions of followers, and you think, ‘OK, this is an illiterate person, and if I appeal to this illiterate person’ … ‘They think she’s cool’. ‘’She’s hip just by sitting here and taking this interview. Black people will vote for me.’ It’s basically saying, ‘Black people, you are stupid, you are dumb, and you are so foolish,'” Owens said.
Cardi B, 27, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, lowered the level of the conversation by insulting Owens for having a white husband, according to the Daily Mail. You want to call me a dumb bitch? You want to call me illiterate? Girl you’re getting pimped out by a white man,” the rapper said. “You’ve been [Trump’s] cheerleader,” she continued. “You’re a beautiful black woman… I don’t know what black man broke your heart or what black woman [performed a sex act so poorly] that you hate your kind so much.”
Cardi then bragged about her current musical accomplishments. “I have the Number One song in this country, I have the Number One song in the United Kingdom, I have the Number One song in Australia, I have the Number One song in New Zealand,” she said. She then compared her hit song WAP to her influence on her audience. “Just like I can make millions of people pop their p****y,’ she said, “I can make millions of people go out and vote.”
Owens responded to Cardi’s claims to be in touch with black Americans by saying, “You continually keep saying you have a Number One song—it means s***. “Nobody cares about a song about your ‘Wet A** P****’. That has nothing to do with Black America, and whether you’re helping or hurting. Right now, you’re hurting Black America.”
Owens then hammered Cardi over her support for Biden. She said that Cardi was trying to get blacks to “go vote for the man that locked up entire generations of black men.” Owens clarified by saying, “Maybe go Google: JOE BIDEN AND 1994 CRIME BILL. Joe Biden used you. Bernie Sanders used you. Neither one of them like or know your music. They think you’re dumb.”
The exchange became even more personal when Cardi used her hit song to insult Owens for being pregnant. “Your baby singing wap wap wap this some dry ass p****,” the rapper wrote. Owens seized on this comment to hit Cardi on her support of the Democratic Party. “Attacking an unborn child. How very DEMOCRAT of you, “Owens wrote back. “While I have you—did you know your party has supported the slaughter of over 18 million black babies since 1973? Did you know the most unsafe place for a black child is in its mother’s womb because of YOUR party?”
Owens finished her response by pointing out the hypocrisy of Cardi B and other celebrities. She tweeted, “Never listen to a person that has private security but wants the public police defunded. Never listen to a multimillionaire that made it here in America, but trashes our country. These Hollywood idols are frauds, leading sheep down paths they never took when they discovered success.”
As of Tuesday, Cardi had not responded to this latest Owens comment.
