The NFL recently released their proposed safety protocols in regards to returning to action in wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
These restrictions and precautions being taken are in response to the various other leagues enacting their own regulatory guidelines to, hopefully, prevent the spread of the virus that’s basically stopped the world over the last few months.
Some of the proposed changes will include remodeling team locker rooms to facilitate and ensure that players are able to remain 6 feet apart, even though we know this is entirely impossible forever, and also recommending masks be worn unless they “interfere with athletic activities” in some way.
Sports across the world are undergoing a lot of changes, and some strange ones at that which may entirely alter how the team interacts if these ordinances are to stay in place for the foreseeable future.
Teams will also be attempting to meet virtually when possible, disinfecting all equipment after every game, (which…shouldn’t they be doing that anyway?) and i’m sure a whole host of other bureaucratic guidelines that will be implemented for PR purposes.
Whether these are strictly adhered to or simply made fun of and taken lightly remains to be seen, as well as for how long they will stay in place. I mean, is football really football without the annoying opponent’s fans and team celebrations after a touchdown?
