Jalen Kitna, a 4 star recruit and son of former NFL QB Jon Kitna, has announced his commitment to the University of Florida to officially join the Gators.
Former QB Ryan Leaf Arrested On Domestic Battery Charge
Jalen’s father wasn’t quite as high profile as he is now, having played at Central Washington and then gone undrafted, although he still amassed 124 starts for 4 franchises throughout his career.
Florida hasn’t exactly been known for its quarterback play over the last 10 years since Tim Tebow’s departure.
It’s essentially been a turnstile at the position, with the best they’ve had maybe actually being last season with Kyle Trask surprisingly taking over instead of the injuries Feleipe Franks, who was one of the most talented QB’s the Gators have had in recent years, but just never lived up to it before transferring.
Aside from this, Will Greir who left, Treon Harris was…interesting, Luke Del Rio maybe? Yeah, that’s about it.
The announcement from Kitna though comes after Kitna de committed from Boston College a few months ago in January, and he will now headline the Gators 2021 recruiting class.

He’s their second quarterback in this class, with the other being Carlos Del Rio, a Loganville Georgia prospect out of Grayson High school.

Florida now has the number 5 overall recruiting class in the 2021 group. So that’s great for them, but now why anyone would want to move to Gainesville Florida? Your guess is as good as mine.
