Marshawn Lynch In Talks On Return With Seahawks

Free agent running back Marshawn Lynch is supposedly in talks with the Seahawks on yet another potential return to football.

Henry excited to see offense with more ‘mobile’ QB

After having retired a few years prior, unretiring for the simple nostalgia of playing for his hometown Oakland Raiders, retiring again, and then returning yet again in week 17 season of last year when the Hawks’ running backs group was suddenly depleted with injuries, it’s safe to say he was never fully out of it.

“Well, it’s almost on that ‘expect the unexpected,'” Lynch said to ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt on Monday when asked about his future. “But just as far as right now, what I do know is, Imma keep it solid. My agent [Doug Hendrickson] has been in talks with Seattle, so like I said, we’ll see what happens. If it works out and I get back up there, it is what it is. And if not, s—, I’m lookin’ good. So I ain’t really trippin’ too much.”

Classic Marshawn Lynch. Keep it on the level, punch it in from the 1, couldn’t care less bout’ nothin else. The perfect running back mentality, i guess?

Despite his desirable demeanor, playing style, and locker room respect, keep in mind that Marshawn just turned 34 a couple of weeks ago and…he didn’t exactly look fresh when filling in last season.

Let’s give him the benefit of the doubt simply because the manner in which he was brought in seemed to be short notice and Lynch didn’t exactly have a runway of time to get into proper shape to play. Which is all fine and good, but even if he did, do you think he’d even clock a 4.8?

I hope i’m wrong about my assessment of his decline, because wouldn’t it be fun to revive the original Beast Mode in Seattle again? Hey, i mean it’s better than John Schneider spending another high pick on a running back that doesn’t produce right?
