As the vice grip tightens on him, President Trump has selected his legal team for his impeachment trial. Citing the Washington Post, that expanded legal team now includes Kenneth Starr and Alan Dershowitz. Alan Dershowitz is a Harvard law professor emeritus. Kenneth W. Starr is known as a former independent counsel.
Trump has prepared his legal team as the House has put together their own impeachment managers. Trump’s attorneys, meanwhile, “scramble” to produce legal briefs of the Senate’s return on Tuesday after the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend. This also citing the Washington Post.
The new impeachment charges will center on the recent Ukrainian military aid scandal. Allegedly, Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Guliani has an associate named Lev Parnas. Lev Parnas was involved in a high-profile pressure campaign. The campaign was, in exchange for money, to enlist the help of Ukrainian government officials. These officials would provoke the Ukranian president to Joe and Hunter Biden’s supposed inappropriate political conduct as Hunter Biden served on the board of Burisma gas company. The Parnas campaign also targeted Marie Yovanovich. Yovanovich was the ambassador to Ukraine put on assignment under Barack Obama. This citing documents and Apple iPhone extraction reports collected by U.S. House Intelligence.
Citing The Epoch Times, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Vadym Prystrakio has stated that he never spoke with the Ukrainian-American businessman Lev Parnas. Prystrakio was then quoted by both the Epoch Times and CNN as making the following comment,
“Frankly, I have not spoken with this individual, and again, frankly, I don’t trust any word he is now saying.”
Even with the internal struggle in Ukraine about Parnas’ testimony, which follows his arrest for campaign financial mismanagement, the House will move ahead with this testimony bolster.
The New York Times reports that Trump will add a third man to his team. Robert Ray. Then, the New York Times notes that Ken Starr and Robert Ray were among those who investigated President Clinton. Trump has recruited these three men because of their experience with “politically charged” cases. Trump compiled this team as what he considers an “all-star” team for the televised version of impeachment events. The men on this list have worked big-name cases besides Clinton. Names such as O.J. Simpson, Claus von Bulow, and Mike Tyson are on their roster of clients.
However, the team also brings a trainwreck of baggage behind them. Dershowitz is now known for representing Jeffrey Epstein, the known sex trafficker, pedophile, and rapist. Mr. Starr was expelled from university for how he handled a football team’s sexual misconduct case. Mr. Ray was accused of stalking a former girlfriend. Facts which the New York Times alleged will hold their representation of Trump to higher scrutiny.

Likewise, Mr. Starr was a “polarizing figure” of the Clinton impeachment. His addition to the team is liable to open the discussion wounds again of the controversies that surrounded Clinton’s trial. This is reported by the New York Times.
Politico has referred to Trump’s new legal team as “Martha’s Vineyard’s Finest.” This name leaves Americans stunned and wondering what grapes of wrath that they may tread as the Trump impeachment commences.
