Actress Rose McGowan started major controversy on Twitter after apologizing to Iran for airstrikes that killed one of the country’s top generals, Qassem Soleimani.

Trump Orders Attack That Kills Iranian Gen. Qassim Soleimani, Other Military Officials in Baghdad, Pentagon Says

On Tuesday, President Trump ordered military action after the United States Embassy in Baghdad was attacked. Dozens of Iraqi Shiite militiamen stormed the main door and set the lobby on fire in what was labeled the worst attack on a U.S. Embassy in many years.

Fortunately, there were no casualties, but the State Department ordered military action and increased security to prevent further attacks.

Many critics of President Trump took to Twitter to condemn his decision. Among them was Rose McGowan, a 46-year- old actress, who seemingly sided against the United States. In a tweet directed at Iran late Thursday she says,

Her tweets were met with harsh backlash before she continued her rant.  McGowan followed up by reaffirming that Soleimani was an evil man who did evil things but added that she believes the United States is morally corrupt and acts illegally.

She says that ‘it is only logical to appeal to Iran’s pride by apologizing.’ Many Twitter users on both sides of the political aisle were quick to call her out for her un-American viewpoint that disrespected those defending the freedom ensured by the United States.
McGowan tweeted an explanation early this morning claiming that she ‘freaked out,’ and it was her right to do so to those in power. She says,  ‘That is democracy. I do not want any more American soldiers killed. That’s it.’
Many political commentators pointed out that the United States is the sole reason she is allowed to ‘freak out’ and express her unpopular opinions.

After a long thread of vulgar language and crude insults, she ends her rant after a halfhearted apology by saying she will never vote Republican and wants the Democrats to win. She expresses her hatred for the United States and its culture.
