The beloved Zac Efron had fallen deathly ill while filming (a far too foreshadowing) TV series known as Killing Zac Efron. The series was being filmed in Papua New Guinea before Christmas, when Efron reportedly contracted an illness. Upon this happening, he was flown to a hospital in Brisbane, Australia, where he recovered at St. Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital. The illness that Efron reportedly contracted was similar to that of typhoid or similar bacterial infection. Typhoid is a deadly bacterial disease that spreads through food and water contamination.
Efron confirmed his illness on instagram but also expressed his quick recovery and gratitude for the weeks in Papua New Guinea. Efron had remarked on behalf of his new adventure that “I tend to thrive under extreme circumstances and seek out opportunities that challenge me on every level,” Efron told Variety. “I am excited to explore any uncharted territory and discover what unexpected adventure awaits!” We are all relieved that nothing happened to Efron and he was healthy celebrating with his family for the holidays.
