On Tuesday morning around 8:30 a.m. (3:30 a.m.) Prince Philip was released from King Edward VII Hospital. This release comes following Prince Phillip’s stay in the hospital for four nights. The reason for his stay has been undisclosed so far.
“The Duke of Edinburgh has today left hospital after being discharged by his doctor and is now back at Sandringham,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement. “His Royal Highness would like to thank everyone who sent their good wishes.
Prince Phillip was seen leaving King Edward VII Hospital and walking into a green Range Rover. Following his exit from the hospital, he immediately returned to Sandringham, where the royal family traditionally celebrates Christmas.
So far all that has been disclosed with regard to the reason why Prince Phillip was hospitalized, is that he went to the hospital for a “preexisting condition” as a “precautionary measure.”
Given the fact that reports state that Prince Phillip walked to the hospital instead of taking an ambulance, it is quite possible that things are not as bad as it may seem.
Phillip has retired from public life. Indeed, he is rarely seen in public. Most of his time spent is in Sandringham. In November, he and the Queen celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary.
