The search for Heidi Broussard and Margot Carey has come to a devastating end.  The pair, who disappeared December 12 have been found at the home of supposed friend, Magen Fieramusca.  On Thursday night Broussard’s newborn daughter was found alive and well inside the home of Fieramusca, but Broussard’s body was found in the trunk of a car on the property, dead by strangulation according to according to the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office.  The suspect in the Texas mom’s death is Magen Fieramusca, who was said to have helped with the search for the missing pair.

Fieramusca was taken into custody and charged with two counts of kidnapping and tampering with a corpse and given a $600,000 bond.  As of yet, no one has received murder charges.  Investigators are working to determine exactly who killed Broussard and that more charges could be coming for Fieramusca.  Preliminary reports say that the suspect had faked a pregnancy for several months in order to plot the kidnapping of baby Margot.  She had reportedly even been present for Margot’s birth and appeared to be very pregnant herself.

The search for Broussard and her baby went on for more than a week as family and friends waited anxiously for any news.  The pair were reported missing by Broussard’s fiance, Shane Carey, after last being seen the morning of December 12th when she dropped her son Silas off at his school.  Broussard’s car was found undisturbed in the parking lot of her home with her purse still inside.  Police finally had gotten a lead on a silver sedan and a house more than 2 hours away from Broussard’s home.  In a strange twist of events, one of Broussard’s close friends had appeared on a crime podcast, speaking about the missing pair, as news started coming in about an arrest with Nolte exclaiming, “That’s Magen’s house — oh my God, oh my God,” Nolte said. “That’s Magen, her best friend. She met her at church camp with me.”

Fieramusca apparently had been a close friend to Broussard as well for more than 20 years.  Nolte has made a statement that she had been conversing with the suspect every day and noted that she “appeared worried” about Broussard’s disappearance.  Upon hearing the news of Fieramusca’s arrest, Nolte said that she was disgusted and heartbroken, “I was shocked. I didn’t expect this.” Rachel West, another friend of Broussard said she had also been talking with Fieramusca the entire time the mother and daughter were missing and said that Fieramusca “played it off perfectly.”   Broussard’s mother, Tammy, said she felt “shocked and betrayed.”

Broussard’s family are reportedly “overwhelmed with grief” as Broussard’s mother said in a statement.  She went on to say that with the coming holidays they are choosing to focus on Broussard’s son Silas who has been left motherless.  A funeral for Heidi Broussard will be held in Louisiana, but it has not been announced what day that will take place.  Texas Child Protective Services currently have custody of Baby Margot as the investigation into her mother’s murder continues.  Today, a vigil will be held in honor of Heidi Broussard.
