As “Star Wars” fans anticipate the release of the last film, Disney is anticipating $450M globally according to Deadline. “Star Wars: Rise Of Skywalker”, the last installment to the Star Wars saga hits theaters this weekend. According to Deadline, film is said to be the last epic global opening until 2021.
The Star Wars saga is one of the most well known and biggest sagas in film history, their most recent installment “The Last Jedi” opened in 2017 and was projected at $200M but doubled their projection. Disney is expecting the same numbers. Being that “Star Wars: Rise Of Skywalker” will be the last film for Star Wars, wrapping up a 40+ year-old saga they may be looking towards more than they expect.
There are talks of the next mega global flims being form Marvel, Avatar 2 and the next installment of the Matrix saga. The opening of this new Star Wars film is the ending of a story that is loved by many. Starting in may of 1977, this saga brought space, action and adventure to the theaters. So there is no doubt that this release will be a big one to end 2019.
