Several skills that would be useful to learn with Amazon includes a lot of things. One of them would include using your voice to let Alexa know you want to play a specific genre of music. For example, Alexa, play country Christmas music. One could even narrow down the specific decade of music, 70’s or 80’s Christmas carols. Even a particular artist with several Christmas albums. One simply has to use their voices to command whatever it is that they want to listen. According to coolmomtech.
Set up the Alexa system for your front door. This is the season for gift muggers, who love to steal the latest package delivery, also for guests coming over, neighbors dropping by presents and baked goods, even for your friend and families, that way you will be one step ahead. If you have a Ring doorbell and an Echo with a screen, you can activate the Ring skill and ask Alexa, “Show me the front door,” or “Turn on the porch light.” If you do have an unwelcome visitor to your front door, activate the Guard Dog skill to bark really loudly and scare them away.
If you are an Amazon Echo member, you can get the best deals and discounts. Ask, “Alexa, what are your deals?” for some great discounts on any products you wish. Find out where your packages are. If you ordered from Amazon, you can always ask Alexa to track your packages so you know exactly when they will arrive. Ask it for any recipes ranging from traditional Christmas meals and any other cocktail recipes. Stay relaxed. If the holiday season stresses you out, you can ask, “Alexa, talk me down,” and she will play you motivational messages of courage to help you avoid shutting down.
Other cool tricks will include asking Alexa to turn on your decoration lights from outside. If it gets too cold for one to walk out and turn them on. You can automate them to turn on and off at specific times. For example, you may only want the lights on when it starts to get dark outside, program them to turn on at sunset and off at sunrise. Or set specific times, like turn on at 6 p.m. and off at 7 a.m. Go to the Alexa app, select Routines from menu, tap the Plus icon, select When This Happens, tap Schedule, choose the time you want, tap Action, select Smart Home and click All Devices, even your Christmas tree. Last but not least, instead of using your cell phone to call friends and relatives, Alexa’s voice commands can be used as a shortcut. Instead, just say “Alexa, call Johnny.” or “Alexa, call my grandmother.” If you want a reminder or calendar, voice commands for anything, you can ask Alexa to remind you to do an important assignment by a particular time at a particular place. Amazon Alexa can make the hectic holiday season easier.
