Another milestone has been engraved in the storybook of King James. Last Wednesday vs the New Orleans Pelicans LeBron scored his 33,000th point. This is a marker in Lebron’s desire to become the greatest of all time. James reached the milestone on a late-game deep three over Pelicans rookie Jaxson Hayes Wednesday night.
After the game, James was asked about this career marker, he seemed nonchalant about the milestone “ I’ve been blessed to play the game that I loved and been fortunate to be with great teammates and coaches and three great organizations.” James said.
LeBron did express fatigue when being asked the question, He was exhausted after the game against the Pelicans. So the nonchalant behavior is somewhat warranted.
However, Lebron had reached a plateau reached by only 3 players before him. Those are Kobe Bryant, Karl Malone, and Kareem Abdul Jabbar.
Lebron joins some exclusive company, As he is getting closer to the 3rd leading scorer of all time, being only 636 points away from eclipsing Kobe. He will achieve this before the season ends barring injury. LeBron has expressed his ambition of being the greatest of all time, this is just another highlight in his case for said title. Being the fact that he reached it at the fastest pace, he will most likely become the fastest player to 34,000 and on.
Even though Lebron didn’t seem celebratory of the milestone, this is definitely causing for pause and appreciation of the greatness that is Lebron James
Lebron James has been noted to being the youngest and fastest player to reach 10,000, 20,000 and 30,000 points in a career and now is on pace to eclipse Kareem Abdul-Jabbar within the next few years for total points. Currently, at 1,216 games at 33,008, this is a feat that doesn’t seem too daunting if Lebron continues to score at this pace.
Lebron needs to average around 2000 points for at roughly three more seasons. With LeBron’s astounding health and supremacy over the NBA, we may see a new scoring champion in total career points before 2025.
heavy is the king who wears his crown, but this king wears it proud.
